Mrs. Hauwa Tokwede, a victim of the Boko Haram insurgency in the
Northern on Friday said members of the sect must be made to account for
their actions, which had brought untold economic hardship to many
Nigerians.
Tokwede, who is from the North but married to a native of Warri in Delta State, also said the situation had not only ruined many lives and property, but had placed Nigeria on the global map as a terrorist nation.
Speaking to journalists in Enugu State Nigeria, she expressed disappointment at the way the group broke into cells to release its arrested members from custody.
She insisted that justice must take its due course. “All the culprits should be brought to book in order to assuage the affected persons whose loved ones lost their lives in the hands of the group,” she said.
On the ceasefire proclaimed by the Boko Haram sect recently, Tokwede said, “The declaration could be mere deceit by the group to buy time, preparatory to wreaking further havoc on the nation.”
Narrating her ordeal in the hands of the sect, she accused its members of killing her mother, sister and kidnapping her husband’s younger brother, Solomon, in October 2012.
She added that she fled the North after a narrow escape from some members of the group, who invaded her home last year. please report any suspicious movement or act to the nearest security body.
