Troops discover Condoms, Narcotic drugs in Boko Haram camps (june 2013)

                                                               

Shocking revelation emerged on Saturday from camps of the Boko Haram sect, following the discovery of packs of unused condoms by the Nigerian Military. Discovered also were used condoms.
Items such as syringes and Narcotic drugs believed to have been used by the insurgents were also found in their camps.

Customs officer Arrested over cross-Border Ammunition supplies 2 Boko-Haram

                                        

A senior Customs Officer in the Borno State Command has been arrested in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, for allegedly aiding cross-border arms and ammunition supplies to the Boko-Haram sect in Nigeria.

Defence Headquarters (DHQ) yesterday, in Abuja, confirmed the killing of 14 Boko Haram insurgents and death of three soldiers in fierce gun battles between Saturday and Sunday in Northern Nigeria.
The DHQ, which gave the confirmation in its update on the mission signed by Director of Defence Information (DDI), Brigadier-General Chris Olukolade, also confirmed that seven soldiers were wounded,

Dilema Over Boko Haram Amnesty: April 14th 2013

Amid the dilemma created by the rejection of amnesty for members of Boko Haram by the leadership of the Islamist group, Governor Muazu Babangida Aliyu of Niger State wants other avenues explored to curb the group’s insurgency.
Specifically, Aliyu, who is also the chairman of the Northern Governors Forum, says he and his colleagues are in the position to tackle the security challenges in their respective states.
“We should not wait for the Federal Government to start the process of making peace with Boko Haram.  We must stop the blame game of saying `it is Abuja’ (that should end the insurgency), because Abuja is only to complement the efforts of the state governments while the actual decision and the mobilisation of the people rests with the state governors”,
